Scientologist or not, when did Tom Cruise turn into such an ass? His pontifications are the largely unintelligible and grandiose ramblings of a person who isn’t, in reality, very smart. In fact, maybe kind of dumb?? And, people with double chins shouldn’t wear turtlenecks! There is an entertaining piece in The New Yorker this week on the cult’s, er, I mean, church’s “Celebrity Center” in LA. On a separate note, I was bummed and surprised to find out that Beck is a Scientologist. Apparently the chick he married (Giovanni Ribisi’s sister) is way into it.

i bet beck’s done so many psychedelic drugs at this point that scientology seems like a good idea. the rest of the followers, i agree, are either extremely misguided/impressionable or simply not very bright.
