They don’t read. They don’t investigate. Platitudes are their voter’s guide. Lois uses “9/11″ the way the current candidates are using the term “fat cats” for populism’s sake. So sad.
There are concrete philisophical differences between the parties people should be aware of. Voters should at least have a general idea as to where they stand on those differences. It doesn’t have to be black and white (and really shouldn’t be) but for Pete’s sake . . .
Men in Black was a pretty good movie, with one dialogue I really liked:
Jay, “But people have to know what’s going on. People are smart”.
Kay, “People are stupid. A PERSON is smart, but people are stupid”.
It may be that populism won’t be so effective for either side this time around. The economy is so awful, you’d have to hope that people will try to figure out which folks will be in their economic best interest.
I have decided. My decision is not to vote. Both candidates and veep candidates are complete lightweights. I can’t bring myself to vote for any of them.
While many feel a given party will work in their economic best interest, it usually isn’t the case. Just look at all of the finger pointing going on from congress. None of them (from both parties) will ever step up and say they created this panic themselves. Unfortunately, the only best interest that politicians are often working in, are their own.
Well, Kev, then my advice is Ice Cream.
