1. RUFIE’S 1st SNOW — rufus experienced his first snow this weekend up in monroe. (as far as i know … i got him last march 13, after the snow season. before that he lived in south carolina for about 2 years, by the rescue org’s estimate). he shuddered when he saw it and refused to step out into it. i took him down to shop & stop where the parking lot was shoveled out and he could explore this foreign, cold wet substance without feeling overtaken by it. he hated it, but really needed to pee so he toughed it out. a few hours later back at home, i convinced him and duffy to check out the scene in the backyard. they ended up romping around, having a ball. rufie’s head just barely made it above the snowline. he was scooting around like a little wack a mole. it was funny.
2. writing class – i am taking a sketch writing class on thursday nights. it’s fun in an uncomfortable way if that makes sense. am afraid of sucking. other kinds of writing i don’t really care … i mean i can personally remove myself from it and not feel exposed or vulnerable.people can rip it apart and i don’t really mind. but not with this. i feel like my nerdy, supreme dork high school self. the one who looked like this <<<<<.

3. WORST BUY — best buy blows. i bought a pricey, slick HP there last january. paid extra for geek squad support. 2 months ago, the compie died of mysterious causes. just died. the geeks shipped it out to be fixed … it took 4 weeks to return. getting status updates was like pulling teeth. then after i picked it up, they called, emailed and texted to let me know it was ready. (thank you very little, geeks). i had the thing back for all of 3 nights before it started having a strange pixel leakage in the upper right of the screen. brought it back in and the nick-burns style geek waiting on me accused me of dropping it. i said no — you guys had it for 4 weeks, i just got it back and it’s malfunctioning again. perhaps you (best buy) broke it whilst shipping. he said it would have been impossible for the breakage not to be immediately evident to me upon receiving it … that there couldn’t have been a lag. that it was my fault. i was like dude: whatever. if the insurance covers it, fix it. 3 weeks later i got a call from a guy in kentucky telling me it will cost $860 to repair the screen. NFW i said. still trying to get them to fix it or give me a refund or credit. in the meantime, i finally crossed the threshold of bullshit needed to make me buy a mac!
