GUEST BLOG #1 — Cloggers

by colleen on January 18, 2010

crustCol asked if I would be willing to guest blog to keep us motivated for the Twin Cities half-marathon we are planning to run together.  Since you’re not here for me, and since I’m not nearly as smart, insightful or witty as Col, I’ll try to be brief.

About me:

  • Col’s college roommate from Notre Dame
  • Stillwater, MN (suburb of St. Paul)
  • BA & MBA, yet using neither of them as I’m currently at home with our two children
  • I married up

Me & running:

  • Haven’t seriously worked out for 4+ years
  • No natural ability to run
  • Longest I’ve ever run at one time is 10K (6.2 miles)
  • Just found out that when you start running 9 months after having a baby, you pee your pants a little bit

So we’ll see how this goes.  Col has agreed to fly out here for the big race in October.  I’ll definitely need her by my side to get through this!  Thanks for the support!

thanks super dave!

crust, you flatter me too much and are way too humble. you’re a smarty pants marketing and business mind. just cause you’re focusing on your family right now does not make you any less witty smart or insightful.

also, you are a real runner … we got up at the ass crack of dawn most days a week in college and hit the track together. that took dedication and discipline. we shall do it again. when you put your mind to something you always achieve it. now we just have to get the date/distance straight!

I can vouch for Col. She is an EXCELLENT coach to motivate and help you run. I did a “race” with her last April and I am completely a non-runner and I finished and felt great. She even stayed at my pace, when I knew she could go further and faster than me.

You are in good hands.

*gulp* I guess, this means I should get back to running w/you, eh, Col?
