home away from home

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR.

work is busy busy. i spent the week of july 4th in boston, came home for 3 nights and now i’m in san diego. i’ll be in cali for another week and a half. ergo it is easy to lose one’s rootedness, especially when working such crazy hours sans nights and weekends to reboot. to help myself stay grounded in reality, i am making sure to run in the mornings and give myself some quiet time at night or in the morning to reflect. i also set up a little altar on the nightstand of my hotel with pics of my niece, nephew and pup, a rose quartz stone (i always sleep with them close) a eucalyptus aromatherapy candle and a little thai buddha figure (which for me is not religious but rather a symbol of peace). small touches help me stay in my zone when i’m out of my element!
