phone standing (n.): ‘fOn ’stand • ing ─ The act of grandstanding in front of a subordinate or any person one wishes to impress whilst talking on the phone with another person. Generally involves excessive name dropping and steering the conversation into directions that showcase one’s wit, intelligence and overall power. Phonestanders are typically much more animated, loud and interested in their conversations when they have an audience, be it in the office, on the bus or in the supermarket.

click reflex (n.): ‘klik ‘rE-”fleks ─ A reflex contraction of a web browser that prevents others from viewing the content one is currently engaged in online. Common applications of the click reflex include: minimizing or closing a non-business related web page when a boss or co-worker approaches, minimizing or closing a pornographic web page when a spouse or partner approaches.

Note: a spile is different from a smirk. Spiles give the impression of congeniality without creating the discomfort of genuine human connection.

megalogooglia (n.): meg∙a∙low∙goo∙ lee∙ah ─ a form of megalomania
characterized by compulsive self-googling.

Netflix remorse. net∙flix re·morse (n.): The emotion felt upon receiving a Netflix selection that you have knowingly ordered because it seemed like something you should see. But when you open it, you’re like: “Damn, I don’t actually want to watch this fucker.” And then you keep it on the coffee table for a couple of weeks, trying to talk yourself into it. And 3 weeks later you give up and send it back.

crumb. crumb (v): to subsist on woefully inadequate levels of affirmation from a desired lover “He hasn’t called in 3 weeks, but he sent an email yesterday. Is he trying to reach out, or am I just crumbing?” (K helped put this term/concept in my head, and now LOST and I use it as a verb)
roll up. roll • up (v): to hit on “It’s depressing to watch married Wall Streeters walking around sans wedding bands, talking about their kids in one breath and then rolling up on every hot single chick in sight.”
