can’t believe one year ago today we were all in montreal for the nuptials. will be to londontown for a visit with the lovebirds before the second anniversary — that’s for sure. love you guys!

Things feel solid and settled in some ways. After an uphill climb, family, health, job, apartment & social = simultaneously good.

Plus, it will be Fall soon. A little chill in the air. My favorite season for fashion. The girl who loves Halloween. And wearing boots. Was always the nerd who was excited for back to school. Fresh notebooks and assignments. Not to mention the new TV season, and football’s return.

Am working out pretty hard these days: at bootcamp and with my trainer. I have all kinds of energy and strength. I forgot that I was like this. The marathoner. The ass kicker. Not that I am running much – it’s mostly just cross training. (I decided not to run a fall marathon for no other reason than I wasn’t keeping up with the long run schedule). Still, I am remembering how tough I can be … willful, determined. Once I decide what I want, there is no stopping me.

This restored mojo has prompted me to line up a few different trips this Fall. ATL, Arkansas, Montreal, Maine … I am gonna be a regular jet setter. Because I can. I have my energy back. And the freedom to go off and, in the words of the loveable cast of Jersey Shore, “do me.”

tonight after work and boot camp (yes boot camp. kickin’ my ass these days)  i was walking the rufie bear and looking around and feeling fall in the air and cool interesting peeps in the nabe. it felt wonderful. lately things feel good. there’s the uncertainty and ambivalence that inevitably pops up in the absence of long-term commitment – personal, professional, financial & other. but there’s freedom there too. now that i’m getting back to a stronger headspace after a rough few years, am realizing and remembering the fun of it. it is great to be an age when you don’t sweat the dumb shit as much, you are comfortable in your own skin and you can still do just about anything you want.

They will tell us how to spend our time, what skills to work on, where to live, go to school, and whom to be with. If you can’t live with yourself and your choices, then it really doesn’t matter if anyone else can. You only get one crack at being you – make sure it’s done on your terms.
